A Little Backstory

When CEO Osa Obanor was having a hard time sleeping, he turned to tea as a natural way to calm his racing thoughts. To find that perfect brew, he purchased several bottled teas to sample. The selection was disappointing: Some teas were bland or had a terrible aftertaste. Others were dosed with high levels of natural sugar (up to 25 grams per bottle!).

Osa began to experiment with teas using unique flavor combinations and alternative plant-based sweeteners. He invited a few of his friends over as an informal tasting group, and the response was unanimous: they loved these all-natural teas and asked him to brew more.

Soon, he was fulfilling orders for Te’y Brew through social media, friends, and new customers that had heard about his natural teas. He moved his operation to a commercial kitchen – and is now working with a manufacturer who can brew and bottle the tea on a larger scale. Te’y Brew is expected to expand exponentially as it gains exposure through social media, its website presence, and press releases.

Osa Obanor (CEO/Inventor): Originally born in Nigeria, Osa lives by his grandmother’s philosophy “if you want anything in this world, you have to do it yourself.” He’s taken these words to heart is always ready to put in the hard work and take charge. With Te’y Brew, Osa had a dream of a better-tasting, antioxidant, low-sugar tea. In true Osa fashion, he took the reins, and made it happen.

Osa spent more than a decade in the food industry, educating himself on the power of flavor. Now he is immersing himself in distribution to achieve a perspective on the supply chain side of the business. Osa is gaining hands-on experience about all the logistics of product distribution: how products are moved, how they are delivered to stores, and warehouse storage.

Osa is also passionate about fitness, regularly hitting the gym and paying careful attention to what goes into his body. His awareness about keeping himself in the best shape possible led him to create Te’y Brew, a tea that both tastes good and is good for you.
